HARBEL's Neighborhood Umbrella Initiative- Funded by a
grant from the Baltimore Community Foundation
It is with great excitement that HARBEL is able to announce it has received
$10,000 from the Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF) to be distributed in
grants of no more than $1,000 to those wanting to implement projects that will
benefit the community. One of BCF's requirements is that HARBEL set
up a Grant Allocation Committee composed of community leaders to create, the
application, review, award, and monitoring processes. The Committee
met recently and has set the following criteria for application for a
Neighborhood Grant:
The applicant must describe the project and how it will benefit the community.
Submit a budget for the entire project.
The applicant may not request a grant of more than $1,000. However,
The applicant may utilize the grant to assist in
funding a project of more than $1,000.
If the applicant chooses this option, the applicant must:
Identify other sources of funding or in-kind services that will be utilized
to accomplish the project. Attach letters of commitment from these
sponsors, and provide contact information for these sponsors so that their
participation can be verified.
Applicants should ensure the project can be feasibly completed within the provided budget, and all projects must be completed by September 30, 2004.
The applicant must seek the approval of their Community Organization for their project by obtaining the signature of an officer of their community association and naming their community association in the appropriate place within the application.
Applications must be mailed, FAXED or hand carried to
