HARBEL PREVENTION AND RECOVERY CENTER is an outpatient substance abuse prevention and treatment center which serves adults and adolescents in Baltimore City. An emphasis is placed on primarily serving uninsured Baltimore City Residents.
HARBEL Prevention and Recovery Center is made up of two major programs. The first major program is the Youth Services Program. The second major program involves adults in the Substance Abuse Services Program.
The Youth Services Program consists of three programs. There are substance abuse treatment services for youth and their families in the northeast Baltimore area. Prevention programs are in place for students that use materials evaluated by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health System Administration that have been shown to reduce youthful involvement in substance abuse. Our prevention oriented counseling program serves youth who might be at risk of substance abuse and/or delinquency. Some of the types of problems that we have tried to solve in counseling presented by clients have included: drug and alcohol abuse, school behavior problems, poor decision making skills, low self-esteem, and dealing with grief.
The Substance Abuse Services Program provides quality treatment services to adults. The program focuses on identifying and providing solutions to adults’ substance abuse problems.
